History of Tahosa Lodge 383 in Order of the Arrow Sections and Regions
Tahosa Lodge was created in 1948. It’s first induction was held at Camp Tahosa in Ward, CO in 1948 as well.
1948/49 – Area V
At that time there were no regions in the BSA, but the OA, in 1948, had Tahosa in Area V which included these lodges:
356, 403, 383, 387, 372, 321, 147, 91, 216, 51, 42
No known Conclave or conference was held for Area V.
1949 – 1951: Area 8-C
In 1949 Area V and Area Q were combined to form Region 8 for the BSA. The new Section for Tahosa Lodge was now called Area 8-C. It now consisted of these lodges:

1951 – 1973: Area 8-E
This layout lasted until 1951 and we were then moved to Area 8-E which consisted of:

1973 – 1988: NC-1A
This lasted until 1973 when the 8 Regions were reshaped into 6 Regions and we were now aligned in North Central Region. Our new Section was called NC-1A and this Section would experience significant shifts over the next 19 years. In 1973 We comprised: 403, 510, 464, 541, 383, 387, 536, and 372
In 1974, we dropped lodge 510 from Section NC-1A. In 1975-76 there was a Lodge merger for 403 and 464 and now the Section had 6 Lodges.
In 1977 we expanded again to include Lodge 356 to go back to 7 lodges in NC-1A

In 1980, we dropped 356 to NC-1B, and added 510 back into our Section NC-1A
In 1981 we grew again by adding 356, 171 and 372 into our Section.
*of note, in 1982 we held a joint conclave for Section NC-1A and NC-1B
In 1983 we shifted again and consisted of 541, 383, 387, 536, 372
(this lasted for 4 years)
1988 – 1992: NC-1
In 1988 we shifted to Section NC-1 and exploded in size!
We now had 9 lodges in our section from Montana to Colorado, with parts of South Dakota and Kansas.
This section layout lasted until 1992.
1992 – W-5B
In 1992 the BSA went to 4 Regions, and we were realigned again into the Western Region and became Section W-5B which included: 171, 300, 356, 383, 464, 541. (fun fact, this was the first time we had split Colorado lodges into different sections)
In 1996 we had another shift, due to significant travel distances, W-5B became 3 lodges: 383, 541, 387. Essentially, they split W-5A and W-5B into 3 sections: W-5A (north), W-5B (central), W-5C (south)
2008 – W-5
In 2008 we were realigned once again to become Section W-5 and consisted of these lodges: 536, 383, 387, 541, 356, 171, 464
In 2011, after the conclaves that year, we were realigned to Section W-5S which was all the Colorado Lodges minus Kola. 383, 387, 541, 536.
In 2014 we were renamed to W-2S, but no Lodge changes occurred.
By 2021, Section W-2S consisted of only 2 Lodges, Tahosa 383 (merged with Mic-O-Say) and Buffalo Mountain Lodge (Merged with Tupwee).
In 2022, after a reorganization by National BSA to 12 National Service Territories, The Order of the Arrow went to 2 Regions. Now a part of the Gateway Region, W-2S became G12C. No Lodge changes have occurred.
In 2023, G12C added Ammatdiio Lodge 590 (Crossroads of the West Council in Utah). We have been renamed to G12S.
